Letter of Intent

My name is Russell Starr and I am an artist in Southwest Florida. This website has been designed to acquaint you with my work. This website will give you a look at my work and my background in art.

I have had solo exhibitions in Bradenton, Sarasota and Venice. My paintings have been shown prominently at both the Art Center of Sarasota and the Arts Council of Manatee. In addition, my work is in public and corporate collections including Manatee Community College in Bradenton, Florida, and Coastal Printing Incorporated in Sarasota, Florida. Thanks in part to regional tourism, my paintings are hung in homes all over the country.

My style of Painting uses the dynamic of wheel thrown pottery on canvas. I am combining the decorative techniques of traditional ceramics with the textures and colors of acrylic paint. My passions for ceramics, painting, and mandalas have led me to express myself in a most unique and exciting form of imagery.
